NANUQ provides people with mobility challenges the opportunity to tour on the water aboard our accessible friendly boat NANUQ for Whale Watching, Bear Watching and Private Charters.
West Coast Aquatic Safaris has a ramp to provide access to the office. We also have a ramp to load aboard NANUQ, priority accessible parking at the harbour and a pre-loading protocol.
Our 36-passenger vessel NANUQ has ramp access and good sight-lines for viewing while seated.
Our boats are custom designed to ensure people that are using wheelchairs can access the boats and enjoy some of the best views near water level while aboard.
We take pride in offering accessible whale watching tours. Through our hiring and training process we select and develop staff that are committed to providing everyone with an equal opportunity to access wildlife on the West Coast. The WCAS family loves to see families enjoy the water together, sometimes for the first time. We are grateful that we invested in accessible vessels in our fleet.
We are working hard to share the magic of whale watching with people of all means and abilities. Most recently about 40 Easter Seals BC/Yukon children, youth and adults with disabilities were treated to a virtual whale watching tour.
The online accessible trip was an inaugural collaboration between West Coast Aquatic Safaris and Easter Seals, British Columbia & Yukon, British Columbia Lions Society for Children with Disabilities.
Join us aboard WASCO and NANUQ for an unforgettable Tofino whale watching adventure to see feeding whales or watch black bears from our safe boat. Experience eco-tourism that is responsible, safe, and fun for the whole family!
