Good Morning,
FUN FACT
Green Surf Anemones, commonly found in tide pools in Tofino, have microscopic barbs that shoot out when prey brushes past its tentacles, paralyzing the animal’s body. The prey then gets drawn into the anemone’s mouth where it’s consumed. These carnivorous animals often feed on crabs, muscles, small fish and sea urchins as well as receive nutrients from the algae living symbiotically within their tissues.
